Welcome!

Hello!  My name is Kristen and my husband's name is Michael.  We got married this past October after dating for 6 1/2 years.  A week after we got back from our amazing honeymoon in Hawaii, we closed on our first house and moved in!  After seeing probably about 100 homes, we purchased the home of our dreams a 1920's Craftsman (or Arts & Crafts) house.  

I've read a few blogs of people updating their old homes, and I really enjoy them.  We started updating ours the weekend we moved in, we're about 99% done with our master bedroom, and have been working on our kitchen for a few months now, and hope to have it done by Thanksgiving.  We've been doing the work ourselves with the help of family & friends and are really enjoying it!  

We bought the house from an older man who lived here for 40 years.  It is a beautiful house, but you can tell the last time anything was updated was in the 70's, so we've got many years of work ahead of us, hopefully with us finishing one major project a year.  The man we bought from was a VERY avid gardener, and has come over a few times to help teach us how to take care of the 200+ different types of flowers he had planted.  It's June now and most of the flowers are in full Bloom and it is incredible.

We are excited to start this blog and document our journey of updating and remodeling this home to keep its original charm but fit our decorating style and modern day needs.  I hope to also look into the history of the house itself and maybe learn a thing or two about not only the house but the whole Arts & Crafts Home movement.
